Take a bunch of bay area rappers and have them freestyle to spaced-out beats, then manipulate and twist the vocals out of control and you get a sick mixtape.
This thing is pretty raw, it's basically an experiment gone right. I created a DJ-style mix, and then just punched in any rappers that were around my studio at the time, and just had them freestyle right onto it.
Instead of mixing the vocals like a typical rap project, I used a ton of effects more used in techno and electronic music.
The result of all of this is a roller coaster ride through an insane infectious futuristic world. Being an experiment, it isn't perfect, but there are moments when it sure feels like it.
