about

I made a full album with an iPhone 3 in 2010 because I can't stop making music, and iOS apps were perfect for me since I found myself in remote locations a lot at that period of time.

I wrote a press release and sent it out to anyone I could think of that would be interested, and the story got picked up by some great sites, like Matrixsynth, macrumors.com, Modmyi.com, the list goes on and on. The story went international and also was picked up in major publications across America like the SF Chronicle, SF Weekly, and many other newspapers and magazines.

As a musician that is used to (and comfortable with) complete obscurity, this was an exciting and humbling time for me! The experience definitely fueled my going deeper as an artist, since I realized that even with this simple fun project, there is an audience out there that can be inspired and entertained by my art.

This experience led to me writing an article on what I would like to see from iOS music apps in TapeOp, a magazine I have loved since forever. This was as amazing an experience as the rest of it!

What I am really happy about is that it inspired a number of people who also have been making music with the iPhone and other "non-traditional" devices, and I love hearing from people doing their own unique musical thing.

I think this album shows that original, fun music can be made with something as simple as the phone in your pocket.
